NEOG, Ltd, is a workers’ co-operative operating since 1995 at the site for sustainability called Earth Balance, located between Bedlington and Ashington.
We grow organic vegetables throughout the year and distribute produce through our box scheme and also, in the summer, at selected Farmers’ Markets in the region.
We are enthusiastic about growing organically and in doing so providing fresh food to local people. The food is grown without pesticides, herbicides or artificial fertilisers. These and other organic principles ensure that the soil is rich and healthy which then means the vegetables are nutritious and often more tasty. Wildlife is encouraged and the limited food miles that are involved in our operation are part of our contribution to living lightly on the earth.
